Chicagoween -  October 26th to October 30th- featuring Halloween events for the entire family. The city, its parks and buildings and streets are decorated and filled with many different activities for the whole family. There will be live entertainment, haunted houses and farmers markets. The Franken Plaza hosts movie nights, dance, theater and much more. Endless Night Vampire Ball –Dates vary depending on which city- has been rated by Trip Advisor as the #1 Halloween party in the world. The party can be found in New Orleans, New York City and Berlin for 2012. It is described by www.endlessnight.com as a “Venetian Masquerade Ball, meets a vampire court, with the energy of a rock concert and the elegance of a burlesque cabaret”. There are limited tickets available and sounds like a blast.

Voo Doo Festival- October 26th-28th at City Park in New Orleans – For those of you looking for some musical festivities, a three day music festival featuring some great artists such as Neil Young,  jack White, Avett Brothers and Skrillex just to name a few. You can purchase tickets by the day or for the entire event. This is bound to be a great Halloween weekend with the musical lineup and the fun events they have lined up.  You can purchase tickets at the festival’s website.

Dia de Los Muertos Festival- October 27th- at Hollywood Forever Cemetery is the one of the largest festivals of its kind in California. This year they are going back to the roots of the Mayan Gods and pre-Aztec roots of Dia De Los Muertos. This event has a lot of history behind it and is a full day of music, crafts, traditional procession in the home of Hollywood’s Immortals with the traditional Aztec blessing, costume contests, art exhibits and much more. They encourage you to dress in your finest Calaca apparel.
